Inspiring Young Minds to
Grow, Learn and Shine
At Amanzimtoti Primary, we are committed to developing well-rounded learners who carry our school’s values with pride.
JUNIOR PRIMARY
The Foundation Phase comprises Grades 1, 2 and 3. We aim to encourage the development of the whole child in a caring, stimulating and educational environment. We use a multi-sensory approach to teaching, which allows our learners to develop to their unique full potential. We also use scientifically backed research to ensure that systematic and explicit Reading Instruction is delivered across the Foundation Phase.
Our dedicated educators are assisted by Teacher Assistants and Teachers-In-Training, who ensure that each child receives a quality, all-round education, creating opportunities for active participation in all spheres of school life.
In addition to the wide range of subjects offered at Amanzimtoti Primary, the learners also receive Media Science, Physical Education, Creative Arts and IT lessons that are all taught by specialists in these fields.
Life Heroes has been implemented across the phase to ensure that our learners are equipped with the emotional intelligence needed to navigate their feelings and behaviour.
SENIOR PRIMARY
Our Intermediate and Senior Phases includes Grades 4 to 7, with four classes per grade. This phase offers a comprehensive academic programme, supported by a passionate and dedicated team of educators.
Learners enter a more structured learning environment in this phase, with specialist teaching in IT, PE, Music, Media, isiZulu, and Art.
All classrooms, including our newly-established Language Centre, are equipped with Smart Board technology and air conditioning, creating a modern, comfortable, and engaging learning space.
We recognise that learners have diverse strengths and learning needs. Our Learning Support Team works closely with class teachers to ensure inclusive learning for all. Targeted academic support in English, Mathematics and FAL is provided each term as part of the co-curricular programme.
In addition to academic excellence, we focus on developing leadership, character, and cultural awareness. Through roles such as class captains and peer mentors, learners build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of respect for others.
